Fantasy Lash Category

2021’s theme: SUNSHINE & RAINBOWS (Your Happy Place)

To explain the theme a little - it’s not literally “rainbows and sunshine”. We want you to think about your happy place - what brings you joy, makes you come alive, makes you happy? THAT is the theme. It could be your family, fur family, a place, a dream you have, a food, an activity. Find that which makes you come alive (your happy place) and conceptualize a theme around it. We want to feel your joy coming through your submission.

  • PLAYERS may use any brand or combination of brands of product they choose, as long as they are meant to be for professional use for the purpose of eyelash extensions and approved for use around the eyes.
  • The MODEL must be wearing a proper set of eyelash extensions (can be Classic, Volume, Hybrid, etc) that was applied by the PLAYER specifically for this Skin Games category.
  • ANY mix of diameter, type of lash extension, curl and length may be used, but keep in mind if the extensions appear to be excessively heavy to the point of being unsafe for the MODEL or obstructing the MODEL from freely opening their eyes, points may be deducted.
  • Any mapping/styling type is accepted (perfect line, wispy, spiky, squirrel, cat, open, etc)
  • Color may be used for the eyelash extensions and is strongly encouraged.
  • Any colour of adhesive may be used.
  • Strip lashes may be utilized for the lower lashes, or as a face decoration, but not to be used in place of applying eyelash extensions.
  • Embellishments and ornamentation may be used, and is encouraged, but must not cover more than 50% of the eyelash extensions. For example, a PLAYER cannot simply pre-embellish a lash strip, then cover the entire upper lash line with it.
  • Hand-made costumes, props, and ornamentation will receive a higher score than store-bought decoration.
  • Any medium of embellishment may be used to decorate your MODEL, as long as they do not cause any bodily harm or injury to the MODEL. The MODEL must be able to freely open their eyes without obstruction or difficulty.
  • Decorations and embellishments may be attached to the skin, hair, lashes and costume, but some of the design must be attached to the lashes.
  • While makeup, costume, hair and overall styling will be taken into consideration and assessed, this is fundamentally still a lash category and as such, the lashes must be incorporated and highlighted in the concept. For example, an impeccable makeup/hair submission may score low if the only “lash art” was nothing more than simply using coloured extensions.
  • The use of copyrighted art, designs, or logos is prohibited.
  • For the isolation video and “before” photos, the MODEL’S eye area must be completely free of all makeup, concealers, BB/CC creams, foundations, etc.
  • ALL aspects of work must be performed by the PLAYER without any outside help, including but not limited to the lash application, makeup, hair, props, styling, and photography. The only exception is if you need a third party to help video record you for your video submissions

Judging Criteria - Fantasy Lash Application

In addition to looking for compliance of the above-noted guidelines, your submission will also be judged on your infection prevention & control (IPAC) protocols, redness or irritation to the model’s eyes, isolation, adhesive control, lash workmanship, use of color, lash technique, lower lashes (or decoration), embellishments/ornamentation, complexity/detail, makeup, hair/headpiece, attention to detail, balance, overall visual interest, originality, concise theme concept, costume, props, and photography. (Subject to change)

The judging process is BLIND. This means that you will be assigned a Player Number, and anything that can possibly identify you as the Player (including but not limited to watermarks, logos, branding, music, nail designs, hand tattoos, showing your face, speaking to the camera, etc) should NOT be included in any of your video, photo, or written submissions. This is to ensure that the judging process is completely impartial and integrous.
