The NALA Gold Seal is a mark of excellence that shows a lash artist has been evaluated and meets or exceeds industry standards in skills, hygiene, studio practices, and professionalism. It represents integrity, safety, and quality, giving clients confidence and accredited artists recognition.
Only current Accredited Academies and Members may use NALA’s official Seal.
The “Certified Educator” badge was revoked in 2018 and is not valid.
Misuse of NALA’s Gold Seal of Accreditation is a trademark violation and may result in legal action.
The current President is Georgia Shephard, daughter and successor of late founder Levi Shephard.
Legal requirements vary depending on where you live.
For Lash Artists: Many regions require formal qualifications or licenses to apply lash extensions professionally, mainly for insurance and safety compliance. Even in areas without strict regulations, insurers may still demand proof of training or certification. NALA accreditation helps demonstrate verified skill and professionalism.
For Lash Educators: Teaching lash extensions often has stricter requirements than applying them. In some countries, formal education credentials or licenses are needed to teach. NALA’s Educator Certificate is recognized by most insurers worldwide and, in some regions (e.g., Australia), can serve as an alternative to formal qualifications like a Cert IV.
Always confirm the specific rules with your local regulatory authority before offering courses or service. To find a list of regulation website in your region, check out our regulations page.
