From $600 to a Thriving Lash Academy: My Journey in the Lash Industry

When I started my lash business, I had just $600 in my pocket and was living paycheck to paycheck. I didn’t have financial security, a big budget, or a guaranteed path to success—I just had a deep passion for beauty and a vision to create something bigger than myself. Looking back, that leap of faith was the beginning of an incredible journey. Today, I own Lash & Brow Academy, an internationally accredited training academy that helps aspiring lash artists turn their dreams into reality. But getting here wasn’t easy.

Building a Business from the Ground Up

Starting out, I did everything on my own—lashing clients, learning new techniques, marketing my services, and figuring out how to grow my business with limited resources. I worked tirelessly, reinvesting every dollar back into my craft, upgrading my skills, and slowly building a loyal clientele. I knew that to truly succeed, I had to commit to continuous learning and excellence—because in this industry, knowledge and skill are everything.

The Importance of Quality Education

One of the biggest turning points in my career was recognizing the power of education. The lash industry is constantly evolving, and I saw a major gap in quality training. Too many artists were entering the field without the right foundation, leading to poor application techniques, safety concerns, and short-lived careers. I didn’t just want to offer services—I wanted to change the industry standard by providing top-tier education.

That’s why earning NALA Accreditation was so important to me. It was about proving that my academy met the highest global standards and that every student who trained with me would receive education that set them up for long-term success. When you invest in proper training, you’re not just learning how to apply lashes—you’re learning how to build a sustainable business, retain clients, and elevate the industry as a whole.
